About the Cub Pack
Cub Scouts, originally called Wolf Cubs, started in 1916 for the younger brothers of members of the scouting movement, who wanted a 'look-in'; it is the second section of the Scouting Movement.
Since its creation,
this section has constantly evolved. It has adapted its programmes and methods
to meet the changing needs of each generation of young people. These days, the
scouting movement welcomes girls as well as boys.
Every pack has their own programme of events which is supplemented throughout the year by larger District and County events.

The Pack Leaders traditionally take their 'Scouting names' from the characters in 'the Jungle Book' which was written by BP's friend Rudyard Kipling. Cub Scout Leaders are traditionally known as Akela but in breaking with tradition our Leader is known as 'Hawk' and our Section Assistant is known as Bagheera.
